Art in the overwhelming atmosphere of the Bargello museum. A medieval Palace, a former barracks and prison where now you can see masterpieces by Michelangelo, Donatello, Giambologna, della Robbia, Benvenuto Cellini, Ammannati but also a marvelous collections of ivory artifacts, textile, tapestries, silver, armours and old coins. The museum features moreover the competing designs made by Lorenzo Ghiberti and Filippo Brunelleschi for the contest of the second door of the Florence Baptistery which gave birth to Renaissance. Last but not least, a fresco with the most ancient portrait of Dante, the poet of the Divine Comedy. Don't miss it while you are in Florence!
After the museum we will have a little walk in Dante's quarter.
